IIT Dhanbad JRF Recruitment : Dhanbad, April 11, 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad has announced an exciting opportunity for aspiring researchers by inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a DST-SERB funded project. The sanctioned project, titled “Investigation of modal and non-modal instability in fluid-porous double-layer configuration,” is led by Dr. Sourav Sengupta from the Department of Chemical Engineering.

According to the official notification dated March 24, 2025, the institute will appoint the selected candidate for two years, initially offering the JRF position for one year with a possible extension based on performance.The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 plus HRA, as per norms.
Project Overview:ISM Dhanbad JRF Recruitment
The research aims to study the hydrodynamic stability of fluid-porous configurations using analytical, numerical, and experimental approaches. The candidate will perform modal and non-modal analysis and assist in designing experiments to validate theoretical findings. If the candidate shows promising results, the institute may also allow them to pursue a Ph.D. at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
Eligibility Criteria: IIT Dhanbad JRF Recruitment
Essential Qualification: Candidates must hold an ME/MTech in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering, or in Applied Mathematics/Modelling and Simulation. MSc degree holders in Physics or Mathematics may also apply. GATE/NET qualification is mandatory.
Desirable Skills: IIT ISM JRF Recruitment
Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, programming skills (preferably MATLAB), and prior research experience in fluid dynamics is preferred.
